Next Saturday April 26 is a big day at The Local! At 2pm we have Nick Saul, former Executive Director of The Stop Community Food Centre who is now leading Community Food Centres Canada reading from his Evergreen Award Nominated book The Stop: How the Fight for Good Food Transformed a Community and Inspired a Movement. (PS: The Local is a pilot for the national community food centre movement!). This is a free event coordinated in collaboration with the Stratford Public Library. Then at 7pm Nick will be joining us for our 2nd annual Garden Party, the culmination of our Earth Week activities. We turn out all the lights and some of the best chefs in town will be cooking incredible wood-fired food! Tickets are going fast for the Garden Party – everyone should plan to come to both!
